Clinic Treatment

Early Onset Treatment

If you have been suffering with heel pain for three or four weeks only, the Clinic’s primary Initial Onset Program will help.

Should pain persist or increase in intensity, then the problem is structural and functional.

The Clinic’s full treatment is then essential to permanently cure Plantar Fasciitis.

Permanent Cure

The only way to successfully treat long term Plantar Fasciitis, is to relieve daily body weight from bearing down on to the Plantar Fascial ligament (see diagram 1). Once this is achieved, it will immediately alleviate the pressure off the torn and inflamed tissue of the ligament, at the attachment insertion at the heel bone (calcaneus). Hence also reducing strain the entire length of the Plantar Fascia.

The basis of this clinic treatment is to address directly the root cause. Clinic research indicates in over 90% of cases it is the daily routine of standing, walking, exercise, working that allows body weight to be transmitted downwards through the foot structure, eventually overloading the Plantar Fascial ligament.

To remove the body weight force from the ligament, the clinic has designed and created an individually engineered prescription insert to fit inside shoes that returns the foot to a self supporting position. This is achieved by repositioning the heel bone (calcaneus) and artificially supporting it for a period of weeks. This immediately reduces the excessive load by aligning the centre of gravity (vertical force) away from the inflamed attachment. By holding the foot in this position over a number of weeks and by complimenting this support with correct icing and gentle stretching techniques, over 95% of patients have achieved a complete recovery.

This technique is not an arch based support or orthotics.

Initial functional assessment is $75.00 and together with treatment, is claimable against most private health funds.
